Atherstone taekwondo club and your instructor Mr. Simon Loveland, have been once more invited to a seminar with Mr Pat Carter and his Clubs. The seminar will be held on the 16th June 2010.
This is a very rare occasion to train with our own grading examiner-Master Donnelly. Master Donnelly never disappoints, but don’t expect an easy lesson! He will be teaching self defense and sparring and ‘old style ‘ taekwondo!
The seminar will be split into juniors 2 till 3.15 for £10.00, be there at 1.30 ish
and seniors 3.15 till 5 .00 for £ 12.00, be there at 2.30 ish
There are very limited numbers available-especially for the seniors event, so get your ticket now! The venue is Kenilworth Sports Centre, Castle Farm Recreation Ground, Fishpond road, Cv8 1EY

Mr Carter has told me we can have about TEN students to the senior lesson but unlimited numbers to the junior event! So book up now!!!!

As usual, Master Donnelly will take our grading, I will confirm the dates as soon as I know!
Ensure that you are up to date with your patterns and set 2 or 3 step sparring, and terminology.

Hi everyone, a quick note on the latest news for our Taekwondo club.
After the new year we are straight back into training, and we have the regional South Midlands Championships to look forward to. This is the first time we have been to this event and we are grateful to Master Atkins for extending an invite to us. Make it your first competion of the year!
Shortly we will be having our first coloured belt grading of the year. We will be having another joint grading with Mr O Neil at Kingsbury Club, due to the numbers grading.
We will confirm the date shortly, but hopefully it will be before the end of February.
We will have a lesson before the grading which those grading will be obliged to attend.
After this, we will be turning our attention to Sparring and Championships! Get into sparring mode by coming down on Saturday sessions, we will be practicing sparring routines, controlled contact, kicking speed, hands, padwork and of cource points!!
Black belts must remember to attend at least one of the three Willenhall Black belt sessions in April with Master Donnelly.
Not forgetting the seminar with Grandmaster C.K Choi, 9th Dan, on the 6th March .

We now need to enrol some more new students at our club, so if you know anyone who is interested bring them along, first lessons free!!!!

We have have received an invite to Master Atkins South Midlands Championships, on Sunday 31st January, 9.30 start.
The event is being held at Hereford Leisure Centre, Homer Road, Hereford.
The event is open to all our students from Yellow Tag to Black Belt.
The events you may enter are : Individual sparring Boys and Girls in differing height catagories, Adults sparring Light, Middle and Heavy weight.
Tag team sparring: Any weights in your belt: Point stop.
Patterns: Adults and Juniors split into individual belts.
Competitors £10.00 Spectators £ 7.00
This is a good oportunity for all the club to enter a championships! At a smaller more local event
Well done to Mr Craig Grosvenor and Ms Rebecca Taylor for passing their second Dan gradings this month!!
Both people have put a huge amount of work and commitment into their training, especially in the last 6 months. It has paid off BIG TIME!!!!
I am sure many of you will wish to congratulate them personnaly on this success.

Personally, I found the event to be interesting, informative and above all inspiring!

I have to say that he was one of the friendliest Masters I have ever met, as well as one of the fitttest!

Please note the following information for people taking Black Belt gradings:
All three BB sessions must be attended, with monies handed in at THE FIRST SESSION!!!!
Remember, you can do Black Belt sessions for other areas AS WELL, but you will have to pay at each of those sessions.
Appropriate paperwork complete with Checklist, 6 no. grading forms (complete with licence details and photographs), cheque, copies of certificates ( for 2nd Dan and above gradings), stamped Umpires and Ref’s booklets.
People taking STAR Gradings must do as stated above but hand in paperwork at the first session and grade at the Third session.
Please note the dates of the Black belt sessions and the date of the Grading at Bristol Academy on the 16/17/18 October 2009
Hopefully, start times and details of exact days of individual gradings will be given at the BB sessions.
Please make sure you are both physically and mentally fit to take this grading- that means maximum effort and training!
Our Central England South Sessions are: Saturday’s; 12th and 19th of September and the 10th October, 10.30 start. At Willenhall Community Centre, Gomer Street, Willenhall off Junction 10 of the M 6.
Remember to only wear TAGB white doboks, and to take your full sparring equipment, and your licence for stamping as proof of attendance.
